What I learned while watching

Advantages

• Each segment enjoys enough screen time to build tension instead of racing through cheap jumps.
• The mythological threads give every vignette a unique flavour; I caught myself replaying twists to catch extra detail.
• Richard Brake raises the entire production; whenever he appears as Darwin, the temperature in the room seems to drop.
• Gore hounds are in safe hands—practical effects feel satisfyingly sticky without tipping into parody.
• Despite the modest budget, I never felt short-changed; strong ideas beat expensive set pieces here.

Drawbacks

• The first ten minutes wobble; uneven pacing almost had me reaching for the stop button before the film found its rhythm.
• Quality varies across the four chapters; one or two endings land softer than the rest.
• The camper characters outside the stories serve their purpose yet rarely move beyond genre clichés.
