Dashworks is an internal search and knowledge assistant that connects company apps so teams find answers fast.

How to use Dashworks

1. Create an account at dashworks.ai and connect Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.
2. Add extra sources such as Slack, Notion, Jira and Confluence through the integration page.
3. Invite colleagues so the shared index covers documents from every corner of the stack.
4. Open the web app or use the Chrome extension, then type a question in plain language.
5. Read the answer, check the highlighted sources and jump straight to the original file when needed.
6. Train Dashworks with quick feedback thumbs so future replies grow more accurate.

What we noticed while putting Dashworks to work

Advantages

• Saves time by pulling exact snippets from scattered docs; our usual five-minute hunt shrank to seconds.
• Slick interface with a universal search bar that feels as natural as Google, so no special training is required.
• Granular permissions respect each platform’s sharing rules, meaning sensitive decks never pop up for the wrong teammate.
• AI summaries sit above the source links, giving a quick overview without forcing a full read.
• Keyboard shortcuts and a Chrome command palette keep focus inside whichever tab we’re already using.

Drawbacks

• Setting up certain connectors, especially Jira, demanded admin tokens that not every company is happy to share.
• The answer panel sometimes omits diagrams embedded in Confluence pages, so we still open the file for visuals.
• Billing starts at a per-seat price that smaller teams might see as steep compared with simple Slack search.
• Mobile experience feels half-finished; the layout pinches on smaller screens and navigation requires extra taps.

Our take after two weeks

Dashworks trimmed meeting prep, sped up onboarding and reduced repetitive “where is that slide” questions across the team. A few rough edges remain, chiefly around niche file types and the mobile interface, yet the core promise of quick, reliable answers already holds strong. We’ll keep it in our daily toolkit and watch how the product matures with upcoming releases.
